Deadlift to SUCCESS!

Deadlift to SUCCESS!

This past week has been the best workout week I have had in a long time.  Now that I am starting to push myself harder in the more traditional lifts such as deadlifts and deep squats, I have noticed an instant change in my body.  I feel tighter and stronger and it seems the pains I would sometimes get in my shoulders are going away as well.  It is amazing how when you focus on form and push to your max your whole body starts to adapt.

I have never gone super heavy on deadlifts before.  My goal was to always be strong, but focus on looking good for the camera without being too big.  But I will tell you one thing; I think I look much better now as my body is starting to become even more proportional.  Last week I attempted 405lbs deadlifts.  I warmed up with 225lbs for 8reps then did 315lbs for 8reps followed by 365 for 5reps.  I had to use the straps once I got to 365lbs, and once again for 405lbs but was able to crank out 4 reps with that too!  My goal is to be at 500lbs before my shoot for STATUS.

Here is a video of my 405lbs deadlift

I have also been looking more into vacuuming for a tighter core.  My abs used to always be very sore after my modeling shoots and I never put two and two together.  During my 6-8hour shoots I was basically doing the vacuum exercise the whole time to be as tight as I could be and that is why I was so sore.  I haven’t been doing as much modeling lately and I haven’t felt as “tight” as I used to be.  So I have been incorporating this exercise in my workouts 2-3 times a week and I have already seen a change in my core.  I will do a video about this exercise soon so lookout for it on the Saturday Exercise Explosions on my YouTube channel.

Today I did an alternating chest and back workout. Going from a push to a pull throughout the whole routine really gives you a massive pump.  All in all, I am LOVING my new workouts and Sean is pushing me to my limits.

I will do some progress photos soon so I can compare them to my first blog post.

Hope all of you continue to push yourself past your limits too!

Lastly, if anyone is from Corona, CA I will be there this weekend for an event on Saturday.  Details will be posted on the SHF facebook page.

In good health,

-Scott
