GETTING THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

 When fitness and working out is a huge part of your life or you’re moving towards making it an essential part of your life then why not get the most out of your time and effort!

The lights are down really low, the room is illuminated by big beautiful candles, and you hear some acid jazz music is playing in the background.

This sets the mood for the beginning of my Sunday 8:15pm YRide class. This past Sunday evening I opened the class room door and 16 people poured in, 8 of those people were couples boyfriends and girl friends and husbands and wives all coming to take class together. I was so proud to see so many people sharing such a wonderful experience with their partners.  This YRide class creates the opportunity and space to make you feel so good.  You sweat through an amazing ride and then totally decompress by melting your tensions away with a yoga flow. Then doing it with your friend or the person you love. What a beautiful way to spend a Sunday evening or any evening!

I have recently been teaching at a beautiful new studio in town called Flow/Yyoga . On Saturday and Sunday nights I teach a class called YRide, it's Conscious Cardio!
 An innovative cardiovascular workout that strengthens lengthens and tones the body by integrating indoor cycling with yoga.  The class gets your heart beating and body sweating while rejuvenating the mind.
 

In my class I try to balance a firey intensity with a deep awareness of the power of breathing. My focus is to help people become more present and relaxed in their bodies and more free in their minds. I love getting into the zone during the class, when you feel like you are on fire and all of your stresses are melting away as you ride. After the ride we balance that intense energy  by moving our steamy bodies to the yoga mat to ground all of our energy with an opening yoga flow.

The great thing about the Flow Yyoga studio where I teach is that they also have a co-ed infared sauna. So after class friends and partners can gather in the dark heated room to share more quiet time together while sweating out toxins. It doesn't end there either; after you shower you can head into the lounge to enjoy some tea and more socializing.   This is how I spend my weekend evenings and I love it. It creates time for yourself and the opportunity to connect with your friends and partners.
