Being on the cover of Status:
It would be an honor to be part of a magazine that believes in what it
prints! I know that Status is committed to providing its readers with top
quality articles on training, nutrition, supplements and fitness. I know that
anything I read in Status is going to help my training, nutrition and fitness
goals in one way or another. I always take away valuble information whenever
I read it. It would be a dream come true for me to be able to grace the
cover and hopefully inspire others to pursue their fitness goals! Knowing
that I would be representing a magazine that is supporting what I and many
others believe in is truly uplifting!
Bio:
My Name is Janine Tweten, I'm a 21 year old fitness enthusiast who caught the
fitness bug 7 years ago! My love for training began instantaneously when I
first stepped foot into the gym when I was 14! My love for training quickly
transformed into a passion and a way of life, which lead me to my first
competition in 2009. I trained for 14 weeks and dropped 50 lbs. After not
placing in my first competition I was determined to come back better, bigger
and stronger for my next competition! I was dead set on winning, and that's
exacly what I did! October 3rd, 2009 I won the Alberta Bodybuilding
Association's Muscle Beach Classic, Figure Tall Category and Overall Figure
Athlete for Alberta. Since then I have competed at the Alberta Provincial
level and have been consistently inproving! "Im like a fine wine, I just get
better with age". I plan on furthering my fitness and achieving new fitness
goals for the rest of my life! I love fitness! It will always be a part of me
and what I want to do!

we fall." -Confucious
Nutrition / Supplements:
The saying "You Are What You Eat" pretty much sums it up. What you put in
your body is ultimately what you will look like! If clean, whole nutritious
food goes in, then the body will function properly and transform in the right
direction. Feed the body processed, fattening, sugary garbage and that's
exactly what you'll get out of it....garbage! Nutrition plays a huge role in
how we can build, manipulate, shape, tone and condition our bodies! Abs are
made in the kitchen, not in the gym! 85%-90% of our focus should be towards
preparing healthy, high protein meals in order to obtain the physiques we
envy.
Training:
Balance is the key to everything. I think a mixture of weights and cardio in
a training program is Ideal. In my off season I like to train weights in the
gym Monday to Friday, making sure I hit every body part at least once! As far
as cardio goes, I like to get in at least 30 minutes a day 5 times a week. I
try to save my weekends for active rest; doing activities I enjoy outside
like walking, biking and playing volleyball on the beach. Sunday is usually
the day I take completely off from training and cardio, this is the day I
catch up on cleaning, cooking my meals for the week, and watching a movie and
relaxing. We all need downtime and Sunday seems like the perfect day to do
that :)
What separates Status from any other fitness magazine:
The Quality of the magazine! The articles are up to date and it provides
readers with legit information they know they can trust! Everything about
Status makes it superior to other Canadian Magazines, especially since they
use a lot of local models from Canadian cities. Can't help but love that :)
