Fitness Model: Adriana Fiore

Bio:  I have spent my life in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the United States, where I have studied to become a Registered Nurse. I completed my bachelors of Science at the University of Rhode Island, where I then landed my first job at The Miriam Hospital as a Staff Nurse focusing primarily on Urology and orthopaedics

Nutritional & Supplements: I follow a flexible diet approach focusing on macronutrients with the majority of whole nutritious foods and the occasional Halo Top ice cream. All of the supplements I use are by PEScience.

What separates Status from other fitness magazines: I love Status magazine because it is not just for athletes, it is geared toward everyone who has an interest in fitness. It provides informative material in an appealing way that keeps the reader interested and not to mention it has featured some of my role models.

What would it mean to you to become a “Status Symbol”: To be featured in Status magazine would mean a peak in my journey. I have accomplished so many of my goals in such a short time and would have never thought I would even be considered for a feature in a magazine, never mind Status magazine. Some of the people who have inspired me throughout my journey including my first coach, Nicole Costa has been featured in this magazine. And to be amongst the best, well that would just leave me speechless.

What would it mean to you to grace the cover of Status?: To grace the cover of Status would be a dream come true. As a competitor I push myself to the absolute limit both physically and mentally. If you have competed you understand. So to accomplish something like a feature or even better a cover page of one of the best fitness magazines in the country would be unreal. Not only would it be one of the greatest accomplishments I have yet to receive in my fitness journey, it would give me the confidence and drive to continue to work hard on becoming an inspiration to others.

If you could ask Status Fitness Magazine Editor in Chief Rodney Jang any industry question, what would that be?: If I could ask Chief Rodney Jang any question, my question for him would be; what was your drive in the start of your career that got you where you are today? Is there any advice you would give to a newbie like me in the fitness industry?

What was it like working with Ali Sohrab for you shoot for Status publication?: It was awesome shooting with Ali; he is very kind and fun. It was my first time shooting in a gym and the location where we shot was amazing. I am looking forward to shooting with Ali again in the future.

Favorite Quotes: “Hardships often prepare ordinary people for extraordinary destiny.” –C.S. Lewis . He said, “there are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday, and the other is called tomorrow, so today is the right day to love, believe and mostly live.” – Dalai Lama

4 things people don’t know about you: 1. I was in and out of foster care most of my childhood and was finally adopted after I turned 18. 2. One of my goals for my future is to become a midwife and help women bring life into the world. 3. Fun fact that almost no one knows unless I point it out. My middle and pointer finger are the same size. Look at your hand do you see how your pointer is much shorter than your middle finger. Mine is not! 4. I started taking golf lessons as a child and continued to play and work at a country club all throughout high school and college.

If you could inspire one person, who would that be? And why?: I love this question. One person. That’s it. I don’t necessarily have one person I’d like to inspire. But to have the ability to even inspire one person to start their journey and accomplish their goals would bring me joy and happiness. As a nurse I am very passionate about health and wellness and want to live a long healthy life and I aspire to motivate not just my patients but, anyone I cross paths with.

Who inspires you? Any why? : Hard question. So many people have inspired me throughout my life but the first one that comes to mind is lifestyle influencer and entrepreneur Amanda Bucci. She is actually from my state and attended the same college as me for nursing. I have been following her journey since she first started and to watch her grow like she has is such an inspiration. Her drive and dedication to helping others is something I aspire to do.

Occupation? Are you a trainer?:I am currently a Medical surgical registered nurse on a urology orthopaedic floor. After completing my second year of nursing I plan to specialize in maternity nursing and go back to school for my masters. I am also currently studying to get qualified as a personal trainer and nutritionist.

Your transformation story: My transformation over the years has been both mental and physical. As a young girl I struggled with self-image issues, which was my first reason for entering a gym. During my high school years my aunt introduced me to weight lifting. I would go to the gym with her once a week and do a whole body workout and some cardio. When I started college I joined a gym by myself and would go a few times a week and do mostly body weight exercises and cardio. This is where the mental change happened I was no longer going to the gym because of self-image issues I was going for my mental and physical health. The gym to me is a few hours of the day where nothing else matters. It’s my time to work on bettering me and blocking out the rest of the world.  I eventually started following fitness influencers on Instagram that sparked my interest in competing and the “lifestyle” of fitness. I started doing more research and changing my workouts. I always wanted to compete but never had enough courage to do so. After college I finally signed up for my first fitness competition with a team and coach. This is just the start of my transformation and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for me.
