Everybody is beautiful, but sometimes the beauty you see outside of a person is just a reflection of what that person is all about. From the moment I connected with MARIJANA through email till I met her at the gym in London, there were some qualities in her that makes her unforgettable. This would not stop here, once you learn about her transformation then the whole puzzle becomes a great work of art to observe and appreciate. Spotlight is lucky to have her! -Ali Sohrab

FITNESS MODEL: MARIJANA STOJIC

Fitness Goals: To be lean, strong, healthy, and most importantly happy

Training Plan: Off Season: Heavy weights low reps 5 times per week, no cardio.
On Season: High rep weights 6 days a week. HIIT training, hill sprints, and stair master cardio 6 days a week.

Thoughts on HIIt, Power lifting, TRX, Yoga, bodybuilding, other: I prefer HIIT and bodybuilding training, as I find I get the best results from them for my body type. Yoga puts me to sleep but I like the idea of it, and I will probably try it again soon.

Nutritional & Supplements:

I eat to fuel and nourish my body so I am more of an eat clean athlete than an IIFYM athlete. I do enjoy a cheat meal once a week.  My supplements are pretty standard, I have protein shakes, L-Carn, BCAA’s and my vitamin D and C.

Describe your lead up to the Worlds: Intense training 6-7 days a week, I was extremely focused and disciplined. My body responded really well to my training and nutrition, that I was still having a cheat meal once a week. My food was quite plain and boring, but I made sure to eat at regular intervals, and I ate the same kinds of foods most days. My least favourite part of the lead up was the stair master, I was happy to see the last of it!

How was your experience on the WBFF stage? I placed 7th in the world and won best gown!  My goal I worked towards was to place in top 10, therefore I was thrilled to walk away twice as happy.  Worlds was an incredible experience.  From meeting all the beautiful competitors from all around the world to the excitement of Registration and Media days.  The day of competition was so much fun and can honestly say it's a day I will remember, it's the friendships created, the fun backstage and the tan I'll never forget.

List some of the best things you noticed about WBFF: It’s not just a “fitness show” it’s about the glamour, beauty and fashion.  The other athletes are supportive, caring and it feels like they just want everyone to be their best.

Special skills: I am a scuba diver and underwater photographer.  I love photography and the ocean holds a special part in my heart so I combined the two.  Whether I am diving, snorkeling or freediving – I’ll always have my camera gear with me.

What do your parents mean to you? What did they teach you? Absolutely everything to me!Every time some says to me I am extremely disciplined I think of my dad.  He is 82 years old and for my whole life my dad has always said to me you have to have discipline to achieve your goals.  That has always stuck with me. My mum never bought fast food, she had a vegetable garden that we all ate from and I appreciate that as I never tried McDonalds until I was a teenager and I still don’t eat fast food.

IT'S NOT JUST A "FITNESS SHOW" ITS ABOUT THE GLAMOUR, BEAUTY, AND FASHION.

What separates Status from other fitness magazines? The quality of the athletes and the details of their journey. There are always inspiring athletes that everyone can learn from and relate to. I always enjoy reading about the athletes.

Transformation story: I was a cross country runner for ten years. I’ve always been quite lean. When I started lifting weights my goal with the create shape and build muscle, which I did find difficult at first. I had been lifting weights for many years just to stay in shape. I wanted to build muscle so I started training under Hattie Boydle. I competed in my first fitness competition at 35 years old, and this is where I really started to make big changes. I could see my body change, not just visibly, but with my strength and endurance. I then competed in my first WBFF competition, and won my Pro card. I then decided my goal was Worlds, and placing in the top 10. I went under the coaching and guidance of Domin8, to achieve my goal.
